About the Village Recorder scheme

The Recorders Scheme was initiated in the early 1950s, by the Suffolk Local History Council. Its purpose is to establish and maintain a network of people across the county to ensure the survival of valuable material for future local historians. To do this, Recorders are asked to ensure that the present is adequately recorded at local level but also to be on the look-out for items of historical interest that might otherwise be overlooked or lost forever.

Ashfield Village Recorder Reports

Reports are available for 2015 onwards.

The reports make reference to individuals and houses in Ashfield, and it has therefore been decided that these should not be available via the public pages of the Ashfield website.

If you'd like a copy of any of the reports, please contact Anita at Merryvale House.
